The SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Program is committed to providing counseling and assistance regarding long-term care planning and insurance options. The following resources and Internet links are provided to aid you in the decision-making process concerning your risk of needing long-term care, financial considerations, and long-term care insurance benefits to consider. Outside Link. A Web site created for the consumer, operator, and developer alike. Access information regarding affordable assisted living residences within the health care, long-term care and aging networks.

FLORIDA LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN
Outside Link. Florida's Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is a volunteer-based organization seeking to improve the quality of life of frail, vulnerable elders who live in long-term care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family care homes. Their mission is to protect the human and civil rights of residents while ensuring their health, safety and dignity.
